Members of the Susquehanna Regional Emergency Management Agency (SREMA) recently met with retired Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Rain, who currently serves as the Safety and Security Director for the Elizabethtown Area School District (EASD). The meeting focused on reviewing and strengthening emergency policies and procedures specific to Bainbridge Elementary School.

This collaborative effort marks the first in a series of planned meetings aimed at ensuring a safe and effective response to any type of emergency situation at the school. Discussions included coordination strategies between school officials and emergency responders, with the shared goal of enhancing the overall safety and preparedness of students and staff.

"Strong partnerships like this are vital to protecting our school communities," said a SREMA spokesperson. "We’re committed to working closely with EASD to make sure every child and educator feels safe and supported."

SREMA serves the townships of Conoy and East Donegal and regularly partners with local agencies to develop and implement emergency plans tailored to the needs of the community.

This ongoing initiative underscores the importance of proactive emergency planning in school settings.

Safety Tip: Families are encouraged to discuss emergency plans with their children and ensure contact information is always up to date with the school.
